Job Summary

Railserve, Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Professional to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) program across the Canadian region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive EH&S strategy to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and corporate stakeholders to maintain a strong safety record and reputation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs to protect workers and the environment.
  • Conduct regular analysis of safety-related statistics and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in the start-up process for new operations in the Canadian region, integrating EH&S requirements throughout all phases of the process.
Requirements
  • Five to ten years of experience in a safety position, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a rail environment.
  • 2-year safety-related certificate or higher from an accredited educational institution.
  • Preferred: 5+ years in the Transportation industry, or 3+ years in Oil/Gas or Chemical production.
  • Excellent knowledge of OSHA standards and Canadian Federal and provincial safety legislation.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to implement positive change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CRSP designation.
  • Experience in Root Cause Investigation and Causal investigation.
  • Proficiency in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legislation, governmental regulations, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
