Canadian Safety Director

Railserve, Canada is seeking a dedicated and experienced Canadian Safety Director to lead our comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) program across the Canadian region.
As a vital member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all applicable government, regulatory, and corporate safety standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining Railserve Canada's exceptional safety record and fostering a robust safety culture throughout our operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement 3-5 year Canadian safety goals aligned with the overall company strategy. Design and execute strategies to achieve these objectives, setting annual targets and tactical plans to drive progress.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the company's adherence to Federal/Provincial regulations (i.e., OH&S, IROR/CROR etc.) as applicable. Manage the Railserve Federal Safety Management System requirements and ensure compliance with Transport Canada & Alberta Transportation standards.
- Safety Culture Champion: Promote a culture of safety by leading by example and encouraging safe behaviors throughout the organization. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze safety data, identify trends, and prepare comprehensive reports to track performance and inform decision-making. Utilize safety management software and EH&S systems effectively.
- Proven experience in a senior safety role within the transportation or logistics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others.
- Safety certification or degree from an accredited educational institution. CRSP designation preferred.
