We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Mechanical Engineer to join our team at NES Fircroft, a leading provider of technical and engineering services to the mining industry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimization of mechanical systems and ensure operational excellence at our client's site in Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Assessment and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and assessments of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs or coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve complex mechanical problems promptly.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Technical Support: Provide on-site technical support and guidance to field personnel and ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of mechanical upgrades, modifications, and new installations, ensuring they meet technical specifications and safety regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs. Prepare and present reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, and contribute to a culture of safety on site.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, operations staff, and contractors to ensure seamless integration and operation of mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on mechanical expertise, and proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices relevant to the mining industry.
- Certifications: Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
