Job Summary

The Customer Services department of the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts is seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to provide exceptional guest service. The Bar Captain will be responsible for supervising concessions staff, ensuring strong and efficient customer service, and maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise concessions staff during performances and events
  • Ensure items for sale are correctly displayed and replenished as needed
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Provide exemplary guest service in accordance with Chan Centre policies and standards
  • Assign staff breaks and ensure all F&B service areas are prepared for service
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Write accurate reports and perform other related tasks as required
Requirements
  • High school graduation
  • Minimum two years' experience in theatre or a related field
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Preferred qualifications include a thorough understanding of Chan Centre concessions policies and procedures, experience with high-volume beverage service, and a team player mentality
Working Conditions

The Bar Captain will work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and provide excellent customer service. The position requires the ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and to respond to on-call demands as needed.
