About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting the Purchasing Supervisor in purchasing goods and services that meet the company's quality standards, price, and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the ERP system to view customer demand and manufacturing work order requirements, and issue purchase orders accordingly.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of component parts to the manufacturing facility, including ordering, expediting, and close liaison with manufacturing, quality, engineering, logistics, and warehouse personnel.
  • Report on material-related issues at the daily production meeting and escalate when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and internal functions, anticipating and communicating demand schedules to suppliers, and escalating risks with vendors and internal teams.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives through benchmarking, including re-sourcing vendors, negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Manage excess inventories and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and projects as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.
  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Post-secondary education in Materials Management, Purchasing, or similar.
  • Certification through PMAC is preferred.
  • Experience with overseas buying is required.
  • High level of planning, organizational, and implementation skills.
  • Solid analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
