About the Job
We are looking for a talented Vessel Operations Manager Assistant to support our operations team at Seaspan Marine. In this role, you will assist in optimizing barge and vessel schedules, coordinate with external customers, and ensure that all barges and vessels are utilized in the most cost-effective manner.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field, with strong knowledge of local port regulations, tides, and collective agreements.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting in optimizing barge and vessel schedules by networking with Marine Dispatch & Personnel, Barge Operators, Port Captains, Engineering, and Barge Maintenance
- Coordinating with external customers to provide updates on arrival and departure timeframes
- Managing ongoing changes of complex deliveries and changing schedules
