This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Trade Supervisor, Crane and Rigging. As a leader in the heavy industry sector, we are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the coordination and completion of trade activities within our shipyard. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulations and company standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crane and rigging operations, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience outside of trades apprenticeship or educational programs. Additionally, they should have a proven track record of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably unionized.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead teams with schedule and priorities, assigning work to trade employees with the skill and ability to efficiently complete scheduled work.
- Implement and carry out Seaspan's health, safety, environmental, and quality processes on the shop floor and strive to eliminate safety hazards at every opportunity.
- Responsible for delivering product and customer quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- College degree or trades certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of related trades work experience (in crane & rigging operations) outside of trades apprenticeship or educational program.
- A minimum of an additional 3 years of previous supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably unionized.
