Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program, you will play a vital role in providing input and support for the development of new program components, including telepsychiatry outreach, consultation to the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Service, and mental health day programs for children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide telepsychiatry outreach to underserved areas of Vancouver Island
  • Consult with the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Service at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital
  • Develop and implement mental health day programs for children
  • Participate in early psychosis intervention programs

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also provide consultation and liaison services for admitted children and youth at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, as well as opportunities for consultation with the local Child and Youth Mental Health Team.

As a member of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program, you will have the opportunity to train medical students and residents, and apply for a clinical appointment. Participation in research is also strongly encouraged and facilitated by Island Health.
