Job Summary

Island Health is seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide input and support for the development of several new components to the Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program (CICAPP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide telepsychiatry outreach to underserved areas of Vancouver Island
  • Consult with the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Service at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH)
  • Develop and lead a Mental Health Day Program for children
  • Lead the Early Psychosis Intervention Program
  • Consult with admitted children and youth at NRGH, in collaboration with another Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
  • Consult with the local Child and Youth Mental Health Team operated by the Ministry for Child and Family Development
Additional Opportunities
  • Training and supervision of medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program
  • Participation in research, facilitated by Island Health
