We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Occupational Therapy Department at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide patient care and support to our patients, families, and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care for inpatients under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.
- Supervise patients in regular activity programs established by the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, reporting any changes to the supervising therapist.
- Follow a patient-centered approach to care, communicating effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in the development of Quality Indicators for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy practice, monitoring indicators and adjusting practice as required.
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities to maintain competency and stay up-to-date with best practices.
- Assist with the maintenance and sanitation of equipment, including assistive devices within the physiotherapy or occupational therapy portfolio.
- Familiar with and adhere to corporation and department policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- College Diploma in Physiotherapy Assistant Program.
- General inpatient treatment experience.
- Recent experience in a Rehabilitation or Complex Continuing Care setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of Gentle Persuasive Approach (preferred).
- Advanced computer skills (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player.
