Job Description:

This exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team at Wabash Canada as a key member of the company's legal department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal services to support the company's growth and operations.

As a Senior Corporate Counsel, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and advising on key business matters. Your exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with your ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, make you an ideal fit for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial contracts to ensure maximum business outcomes while minimizing risk.
  • Review and evaluate contractual agreements with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure their acceptability.
  • Advise on key employment matters, ensuring compliance with Ontario and other applicable employment laws.
  • Implement standard contract templates and workflows to improve efficiencies and effectiveness in the contracting process.
  • Lead corporate governance activities and manage outside counsel and resources effectively for specific engagements.
  • Stay ahead of evolving legal regulations and deliver insights to ensure compliance and provide senior leadership with actionable legal advice that informs broader business strategies.
Requirements:
  • Called to the Ontario Bar and licensed to practice law in Ontario.
  • 5+ years of post-call experience with a focus on commercial and/or employment law, gained either in-house or through a law firm.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and/or software agreements is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to balance legal risk with business opportunity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide pragmatic, actionable advice that considers both legal risks and business objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $150,000-$180,000 CAD, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement plan.
