We are seeking a seasoned Senior Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our regulatory strategy and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help us navigate complex legal landscapes and drive business growth.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled lawyer with 5+ years of experience in corporate and commercial law to lead our regulatory efforts. You will be responsible for providing strategic advice on commercial agreements, conducting risk assessments, and participating in cross-functional initiatives related to new legislation, products, and market expansions.

  1. You will advise on a wide range of commercial agreements involving complex legal issues.
  2. Conduct thorough legal risk assessments and work closely with business leaders to mitigate risks related to health and privacy matters.
  3. Participate in projects such as impact assessments for new legislation, services, products, or market entries.
  4. Oversee regulatory laws and risks associated with our operations.
  5. Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including licenses, terms & conditions, service agreements, partnership agreements, and representative agreements.
  6. Collaborate with COO, business development, product, and marketing teams to drive business growth.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • LLB or JD degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Strong background in corporate and contract law, IP, health care, and regulatory affairs.
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to legal and reputational risks.
  • Experience with M&A transactions is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
