Job Description

The Statistician will be responsible for reviewing analytical data based on statistical principles, formatting data for client submission, and preparing written reports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing data reports and written reports for client projects
  • Additional analyses of data as requested internally
  • Maintenance of accurate historical control and recovery data files and analyte target values
  • Implementation of the Laboratory Quality Policy and adherence to existing project-specific requirements, current test methods, study plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Mathematics or Bachelor of Science in Statistics or Biostatistics
  • University-level courses in microbiology, cell biology, and computer science (an asset)
  • Knowledge of various statistical tools and concepts, including regression, ANOVA, data modeling, experimental design, etc.
  • Experience with statistical software and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint (definite assets)
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision
