Risk and Internal Control Specialist

Siemens Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Risk and Internal Control Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Risk and Internal Control (RIC) function, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a robust internal control environment in accordance with Siemens' Risk and Internal Control methodology.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the RIC activities in Canada, ensuring effective implementation of internal controls and risk management practices.
- Take ownership of managing and driving the internal controls system for select business units and support functions, including analysis of control requirements and control documentation.
- Responsible for applicability, account scoping, controls documentation, assessments, deficiency reporting, and remediations, as well as RPA/RDA tracking and circular implementation.
- Manage the Siemens internal RIC Tool independently, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Document IT General and Application Controls and coordinate testing with testers.
- Support Enterprise Risk Management Activities, engaging in continuous improvement and efficiency projects related to internal control processes.
- Participate in drafting effective policies, procedures, processes, and controls necessary to ensure compliance with the overall Governance Program of the organization.
- Work with Governance Owners to facilitate and drive the deficiency remediation process, addressing the root cause of weaknesses with a focus on timely and sustainable remediation.
- Conduct impact analyses of ineffective key controls regarding their relevance for Entity Reporting and provide guidance on the formulation of remediation measures and monitoring their correct and timely implementation.
- Support local businesses in developing general principles, methodology, and assessment approaches for ICFR relevant Controls, ensuring proper outsourcing, bundling of controls, and organizing effective workshops and trainings.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CFE) is an asset.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of business experience, with 2 years of experience in an internal control environment, preferably.
- Solid understanding of internal controls and internal audit practices, as well as comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP system and strong Excel skills, including the ability to program macros and automate processes through automation tools.
- Strong intellectual and analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and proven ability to prepare and present information to all management levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, achieve deadlines, and deliver quality results within a team environment.
- Strong focus on efficiency and process improvement, creative thinking, and self-motivation.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with teammates, key stakeholders, and business and functional experts, and influence decision outcomes.
