About the Role:
The Roving Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems, by performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services. This role involves working at various locations throughout Southern Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs work in accordance with established processes and practices to ensure facility uptime objectives are met.
- Complies with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection regulations.
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical equipment and systems.
- Monitors assigned facilities by conducting facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other equipment system monitoring and inspection.
- Operates facility mechanical and other systems, ensuring they are functioning properly.
- Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) programs, identifying and addressing deficiencies, and maintaining related documents.
- Enhances tenant and customer satisfaction by delivering services in a manner that meets corporate and legislated policies.
Requirements:
- High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
- Sound knowledge of processes and practices related to facility operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
- Strong client-service orientation, with a high sense of urgency.
- Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
- Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
- Mentoring skills to support lower-level technicians' development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Power Engineer Certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
