About the Role:

The Roving Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems, by performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services. This role involves working at various locations throughout Southern Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Performs work in accordance with established processes and practices to ensure facility uptime objectives are met.
  2. Complies with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection regulations.
  3. Responds to routine and on-demand service requests, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical equipment and systems.
  4. Monitors assigned facilities by conducting facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other equipment system monitoring and inspection.
  5. Operates facility mechanical and other systems, ensuring they are functioning properly.
  6. Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) programs, identifying and addressing deficiencies, and maintaining related documents.
  7. Enhances tenant and customer satisfaction by delivering services in a manner that meets corporate and legislated policies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices related to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Strong client-service orientation, with a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Mentoring skills to support lower-level technicians' development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power Engineer Certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
