Catholic Social Service's Home Support program is seeking a Community Companion Volunteer to provide support and companionship to a male client with disabilities.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be a respectful and patient individual with good interpersonal and communication skills. They will be responsible for:

  • Accompanying the client to community events and activities
  • Providing positive encouragement and support
  • Engaging in fun activities such as going for coffee or walking

Responsibilities:

The Community Companion Volunteer will be responsible for:

  • Meeting the client in the community
  • Allowing the client to choose the type of activity
  • Having fun and enjoying the company of the client

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Respectful and patient demeanor
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to commit to a 6-month or more volunteer placement
