About the Role

The Volunteer Services Coordinator is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of Bethany CollegeSide's volunteer program. This part-time role will empower you to build and maintain a robust volunteer program, engaging the local community and supporting employees, residents, and families through various activities and programs. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day coordination and administration of volunteers, assessing current and future needs, and planning for volunteer engagement and recognition. You will also be responsible for recruiting, selecting, and orientating volunteers, developing volunteer position descriptions, and liaising with community organizations to increase awareness of the Bethany CollegeSide site. What You Bring:
  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • 2-3 years of volunteer coordination or program experience
  • Diploma and/or training in volunteer management
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience as a volunteer preferred
  • Knowledge of dementia and related issues would be an asset
  • Ability to build and establish relationships with staff, community, residents, and their families
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated and community-oriented
  • Superior organization and administrative skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Previous experience with volunteer management software is an asset
