Job Title: Encampment Outreach Specialist

Pacifica Housing is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Encampment Outreach Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Downtown Outreach Housing Resource Services (DOHRS) team, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary group to provide outreach, assessment, placement, and advocacy services to identified homeless individuals residing in encampments in and around the municipality of Greater Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments through direct one-to-one consultations with clients, providing guidance, crisis intervention, and referral services to other community agencies.
  • Develop and maintain on-going working, professional relationships with community members, landlords, property owners/managers, and collaborate with the Landlord Liaison position to resolve disputes and issues.
  • Manage program-specific private market subsidies, facilitating multi-dwelling housing sites for encampment-related individuals and other housing models.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties, including tracking client housing activities, compiling monthly statistical reports, and maintaining the BC Housing Database.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Social Work or Psychology, or Counselling, Mental Health, or Addictions Worker qualifications or other related social services field from college or university.
  • Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience required.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent related experience.
