Job Title: Encampment and Community Outreach Worker

Job Summary:

Pacifica Housing is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Encampment and Community Outreach Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Downtown Outreach Housing Resource Services (DOHRS) team, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary group to provide outreach, assessment, placement, and advocacy services to identified homeless individuals residing in encampments in and around the municipality of Greater Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of support services to clients with multiple barriers to housing, including comprehensive assessments, guidance, crisis intervention, and referral services to other community agencies.
  • Develop and maintain on-going working relationships with community members, landlords, and property owners/managers to facilitate client placement and retention in stable housing.
  • Manage program-specific private market subsidies and collaborate with Pacifica Housing's property management services to ensure effective housing site management.
  • Perform administrative duties, attend professional development functions, and participate in program and policy assessment to ensure the highest level of service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Social Work or Psychology, or Counselling, Mental Health, or Addictions Worker qualifications or other related social services field from college or university.
  • Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience required.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent related experience.
