About the Opportunity

The Physiotherapist plays a vital role in our clinical team, collaborating with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participating in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solving problems, and sharing responsibilities. This physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment, and pain management. This physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.

The Physiotherapist delivers programming with other members of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program to patients living with Advanced Liver Disease (40%) and works on inpatient units (30%). The incumbent may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio. Physiotherapists work on weekends in many areas of the hospital.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced physiotherapist who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
  • Previous experience working in an organ transplant program is considered an asset.
  • Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, and Microsoft Outlook)
  • Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS)
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent, Part-time position; 52.5 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$33.97 - $42.89 Hourly
