HR Director, Global Insurance Operations

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead our global insurance operations. This role will be responsible for advising the Insurance Executive Committee and senior leadership team on all aspects of Human Resources.
SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards.
Job DescriptionAs Head of HR, RBC Insurance, you will have global responsibility across a diverse organization structure with multiple industry segments and distribution channels. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, delivering, and evolving innovative cost-efficient HR solutions in advancement of RBC Insurance's business strategy and people priorities.
- Ensuring business decisions related to human resources are well-informed through robust discussion and analysis in support of strategic decision-making at an individual and organizational level.
- Leading workforce planning requirements in alignment with RBCI strategy and cost management planning; leading diversity initiatives through the Insurance Diversity Council.
- HR Integration lead on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A's).
- Partnering with HR Initiatives team and Centres of Expertise; utilizing and guiding usage of HR model for managerial and employee support.
- Compensation - Leading the annual compensation planning process; managing specific country compensation programs including Canada and Barbados; guiding and directing business leaders on compensation issues.
- Being a market leader; RBCI senior HR leader to all applicable HR-related industry and regulatory bodies globally; active member of various Insurance Industry HR-related organizations representing RBCI.
- Talent Management - Leading the assessment and strengthening of leadership depth and employee capability through integrated leadership programs and development opportunities.
- Governance - Ensuring that the organization and all legal entities meet corporate governance and legal requirements.
- Change Management - Responsibility for the design and adaptation of an organizational structure (including reporting relationships, roles, and accountabilities, rewards, and recognition) that delivers on RBCI business strategy.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A college or university degree or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, with 2-4 years in large, multi-unit companies.
- Experience in multiple HR disciplines including talent management, compensation, learning and development, and coaching.
