Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Service Employee (Mechanic Helper). This role involves assisting the Maintenance Team in ensuring vehicles are prepped and transferred to the appropriate location within the facility.

The position plays a crucial part in maintaining a clean and organized Shop area, making sure vehicles are presentable and ready for customers. As a Service Employee, you will have opportunities to move into Lube Technician roles and work towards our Heavy Duty Apprentice Mechanic training program.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash and fuel vehicles
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Yard and Shop areas
  • Move heavy-duty vehicles safely
  • Check tire pressure and perform multi-point inspections
  • Record fuel activity and maintain proper fuel inventories
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Valid Canadian Driver's license required (at least Class G2)
  • Diploma or GED required
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service skills and ability to understand customer communication
  • Basic computer skills and data entry capabilities
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work and weekends
