Nursery Labourer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Nursery Labourer to join our team at KS Nurseries Ltd. in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tie and secure plants to ensure proper growth and development.
  • Weeding and maintaining a clean work area to prevent the spread of diseases.
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to promote healthy growth.
  • Mix and prepare soils to meet the specific needs of our plants.
  • Plant bulbs and seeds in a controlled environment.
  • Pot and re-pot plants to ensure optimal growth.
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to promote healthy growth.
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage to prevent the spread of diseases.
  • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs to prepare for transplanting.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to ensure optimal growth.
  • Clean work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Physically demanding work requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail to ensure quality work.
Personal Suitability:
  • Efficient interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
Experience:
  • Experience an asset, but not required.
