About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Nursery Labourer to join our team at KS Nurseries Ltd. As a key member of our floriculture production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the growth and maintenance of plants, trees, and shrubs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tie and secure plants to ensure optimal growth and development
  • Weed and maintain the cleanliness of the work area
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to promote healthy growth
  • Mix and prepare soils to meet the specific needs of our plants
  • Plant bulbs and seeds to ensure a diverse and thriving plant collection
  • Pot and re-pot plants to maintain optimal growing conditions
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to promote healthy growth
  • Report any signs of insect or disease damage to ensure prompt action is taken
  • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs to facilitate transplanting
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to ensure optimal growth and development
  • Clean the work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Work Environment

As a Nursery Labourer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks. You will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including hot temperatures and exposure to odours. You will also be required to bend, crouch, and kneel to perform tasks.

Requirements
  • Experience in horticulture or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Physical fitness to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Attention to detail to ensure optimal plant growth and development
