About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Nursery Labourer to join our team at KS Nurseries Ltd. As a key member of our floriculture production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the growth and maintenance of plants, trees, and shrubs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tie and secure plants to ensure optimal growth and development
  • Weed and maintain the cleanliness of the work area
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to promote healthy growth
  • Mix and prepare soils to meet the specific needs of our plants
  • Plant bulbs and seeds to ensure a diverse and thriving plant collection
  • Pot and re-pot plants to maintain optimal growing conditions
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to promote healthy growth
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage to ensure prompt action is taken
  • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs to facilitate transplanting
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to ensure optimal growth and development
  • Clean the work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Work Environment

As a Nursery Labourer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on repetitive tasks. You will be required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including hot temperatures. You will also be exposed to odours and will need to be able to work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Experience an asset, but not required
  • Physical ability to perform tasks in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient work
