The Department of Classics at the University of Toronto invites applications for two full-time tenure stream positions in Ancient Greek Literature. The successful candidates will have a PhD degree in Classics or a related area, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. They will have a program of rigorous and innovative research at the highest international level, backed by a track record commensurate with their career stage. They will also have expertise in at least one other ancient language and the ability to teach translation-based courses in ancient Greek literature and language courses in ancient Greek. The candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to improving equity, diversity, and inclusion within the subject. The University of Toronto is committed to a capacious and pluralistic understanding of Classics, and the Department encompasses all aspects of Greco-Roman antiquity. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the Department's excellence across the full chronological and methodological scope of the field.
