Job Summary

As a Senior Risk Management Leader at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's commercial credit transactions are adjudicated with sound judgment and adherence to policy. You will be responsible for taking a balanced approach to asset growth and portfolio quality, while partnering with business and commercial markets leaders to manage assigned portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess commercial credit submissions between $3MM and $15MM, reviewing exceptions to credit policy and ensuring accuracy of risk assessment.
  • Influence portfolio quality through strategic assessment and management of risk.
  • Identify risk issues and take proactive action to address them within designated portfolios.
  • Coach and counsel account managers on risk management best practices.
  • Monitor portfolio trends, including business risk rating, delinquencies, and non-accrual loans.
  • Stay up-to-date on credit administration and compliance trends, recommending course of action on specific accounts and assisting business partners with corrective actions.
  • Represent the bank and risk management in the marketplace, including client visits as needed.
  • Deal directly with commercial account managers and vice presidents.
Requirements
  • Previous business, commercial, or corporate banking experience or relevant alternate experience.
  • Strong risk assessment and analysis skills.
  • Strong listening and negotiating capabilities, as well as effective written communication.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Proficiency in all standard bank technology and systems.
  • University education, with postgraduate qualifications (CFA, CMA, MBA, etc.) or relevant work experience.
