Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Risk and Safety Services team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure the University's risk management, safety, and security needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to manage risk and ensure a culture of safety and risk management across the University.
  • Lead the departments of Environmental Health and Safety, Campus Security and Emergency Services, and Insurance Services.
  • Advise the University on risk management, safety, and security matters, and provide expertise on risk-based audit planning.
  • Provide leadership in Business Continuity Planning and support a diverse high-functioning team.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with key partners, including the City of Kingston, Police Services, and the Queen's Senior Leadership Team.
Requirements
  • A university degree, or a graduate degree preferable, with significant previous experience in a senior management role.
  • Proven track record in recruiting, developing, and motivating diverse and inclusive teams.
  • Experience in strategic planning, policy development, financial planning and analysis, relationship management, data acquisition, and report writing.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to compile, synthesize, and interpret relevant data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in non-technical terms.
