Job Summary

As an Operations Support Coordinator at DSV, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' needs. You will be responsible for handling day-to-day operational elements, including customer communication, freight updates, and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks within the scope of the job.
  • Effectively respond to internal stakeholders' inquiries, resolve conflicts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all account correspondence is up-to-date, and electronic copies are uploaded with milestones.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to prepare and present quotes, maintain quotes in the system, and update milestones in real-time.
  • Optimize DSV profit margins without compromising service.
  • Monitor carriers, inform dispatchers and supervisors of escalated issues, and update transportation management systems and customer websites with real-time load locations.
  • Identify problems proactively and develop creative solutions.
  • Prioritize loads based on importance and delivery dates.
  • Communicate modifications to Account Managers to update clients.
  • Build strong relationships with assigned carriers through communication and ongoing monitoring of on-time performance.
  • Complete performance reports for carrier-related issues and notify potential issues to the appropriate parties.
  • Negotiate additional charges with carriers and maintain the accuracy of carrier information.
  • Ensure tracking meets established standards and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Communicate carrier issues that may impact operations.
  • Work knowledge of transportation cargo claims, transportation laws, and risk management.
  • Keep the Operations Team and Account Manager updated on significant issues.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and the integrity of shared work files on network systems.
  • Meet KPI standards as per company guidelines.
Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution. A college diploma or university degree in Business, Logistics, or International Trade is preferred. CIFFA certification and Dangerous Goods Certification are assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to create collaborative engagements and active listening. Strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively are essential. The candidate should be a team builder and team player, with excellent organizational and time management skills. They should also be able to act as a role model for DSV values and adhere to the Code of Conduct.

Language and Computer Skills

The primary language for this position is English, with additional languages required in other locations. The candidate should be able to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of transportation management software, such as Load Link and PC Miler, are assets.

Physical Demands

The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer. Regular working hours apply, but working beyond these hours may be required by business needs.
