Role Overview and Expectations
The Senior Brand Strategist - Copy oversees the copy team from inception to final product, ensuring high-quality content and style that meets client marketing strategies and objectives. As a brand leader, they solve strategic and creative issues with the client, enhancing the client's confidence in our agency. The Senior Brand Strategist manages and mentors a team of creatives, handling a heavy workload while maintaining a deep understanding of departmental procedures such as routing, print production, and usage rights of stock images.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes knowledge of product, market & position, ensuring strategic planning, implementation, good service, financial control, and client relationship
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the client's marketplace, evaluating work in light of current marketing trends
- Possesses the ability to empower project teams to create cutting-edge concepts or designs within brand guidelines
- Contributes innovative ideas aligned with the client's marketing strategy
- Leads and contributes in brainstorming sessions, anticipating and solving creative problems, providing feedback on creative approaches
- Oversees creation of concept roughs for presentation to the client, helps set priorities, and manages workloads
- Responsible for growing existing brands, participating in new business, supervising concept work, and fostering diversity and inclusion
- Manages and mentors direct reports, sets expectations, demonstrates ability to hire and retain capable people
- Develops strong relationships, advances craft expertise, and shares industry knowledge
Requirements:
- Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and teamwork
- Client rapport building, presentation skills, managerial and leadership skills, market understanding, and computer proficiency
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Advertising/Marketing, Communications, Writing, or related discipline preferred
- 10+ years of marketing/advertising business experience preferred
- Comfort with integrating AI into work
Estimated salary range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Compensation package includes competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
