Senior Baker and Dessert Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pastry Chef to join our team at Constantine.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position with 30-40 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the field or equivalent. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, be able to stand for extended periods, and demonstrate dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, and organized behavior as a team player.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate costs and quantities of supplies and food items.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to the cooking staff.
- Create innovative recipes.
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
- Plan menus to ensure quality standards are met.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
The ideal candidate will possess a Safe Food Handling certificate and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. A background in bakery goods and desserts, as well as experience working with chocolate, is preferred.
What We Offer- A competitive salary estimated to be around $50,000 - $60,000 annually, based on industry standards and location.
