Sweet Gallery is a premier dessert destination seeking an experienced Executive Baker and Dessert Specialist to join our team.

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled pastry professional with 1-2 years of experience to oversee the creation and presentation of our bakery goods and desserts. As an Executive Baker and Dessert Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory, analyzing operating costs and other data, and demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to our culinary staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal resource allocation and minimize waste.
  • Analyze operating costs and other relevant data to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our culinary staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement new recipes that showcase our creativity and commitment to quality.
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods as needed to meet customer demand.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks to ensure efficient workflow and effective teamwork.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to promote a culture of excellence and safety.
About You

We are seeking an experienced pastry professional with a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1-2 years of experience in a similar role. You should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential in maintaining accurate records and analyzing data to inform business decisions.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience. You will also enjoy a permanent work arrangement, working 30-40 hours per week. Our company is recognized by government programs as a valued employer, offering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
