Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead UX Researcher to join our team. As a key member of our product strategy team, you will be responsible for creating an Experience Vision for The Globe and Mail, and for applying order and automation to our UX research operations and practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and organize our UX research operations to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
  2. Map the complete user journey across all touchpoints to identify areas for improvement
  3. Conduct discovery work to deeply understand our readers' personal contexts and uncover unmet needs that will inform our product strategy
  4. Produce an Experience Vision that will guide our product development and strategy
  5. Communicate your findings to our executive team, product design team, and other stakeholders on a regular basis
  6. Mentor our product design team to develop their research skills and expertise

Requirements:

  1. 8+ years of experience in UX research, with a strong background in user experience and design thinking
  2. Passion for user experience and design thinking, with a desire to innovate within the news and media industry
  3. Experience optimizing a research library, best-practices research techniques, and systems to socialize findings
  4. Confidence in communicating with leadership and facilitating stakeholder alignment
  5. Charisma and clarity in oral communication and documentation
  6. Experience working with data and metrics, with a proven ability to translate qualitative and quantitative insights into innovation in user experience
  7. A positive attitude that embraces diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with a learning mindset and a willingness to take initiative
  8. Extensive experience using research tools such as Airtable, Miro, Google Suite, or Microsoft
  9. Basic front-end coding comprehension, including CSS, HTML, and digital technology
