Job Overview
The Data Security Analyst will play a pivotal role in investigating security incidents, analyzing threat intelligence, and implementing response actions to mitigate potential risks. This expert-level position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, threat analysis, and incident response procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Cybersecurity Threat Analysis and Response
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM/EDR/XDR tools using industry-accepted analytics techniques and frameworks such as Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, identifying malicious activities and correlating event details within the incident timeline.
- Implement response actions to mitigate identified risks, ensuring adherence to defined processes and procedures.
- Incident Management and Documentation
- Create, manage, and follow up on service tickets related to security incidents.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of incident investigations, including root cause analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing throughout the incident management process.
- Technical Skills and Certifications
- Possess a strong foundation in IT infrastructure systems, cybersecurity fundamentals, vulnerability management, endpoint and server administration, network routing and switching, and network traffic analysis.
- Hold relevant technical certifications in areas such as QRadar, LogRhythm, Exabeam, Splunk, or similar technologies.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies through continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
- Soft Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Show a proven track record of teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
- Meet the requirements outlined below:
- Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or 3-year diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or Technology-related field.
- At least 1 year of work experience in supporting information technology/systems.
- Relevant technical certification(s) in cybersecurity or a related field.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Previous experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment or similar setting.
- Essential Functions:
- The position is part of a 7-day-per-week, 24-hour-per-day managed services operation, requiring flexibility and willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
