Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled scientist with substantial laboratory experience in the analysis and characterization of antibodies and therapeutic proteins using mass spectrometry and other analytical methodologies. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who excels in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to groundbreaking research in monoclonal antibody characterization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and execute experiments independently or collaboratively.
- Conduct mass spectrometry analyses on antibodies and therapeutic proteins, focusing on intact mass, peptide mapping, glycan profiling, and post-translational modifications.
- Perform detailed structural analysis of proteins, including sequence confirmation and disulfide mapping, to support various analytical comparisons.
- Develop and implement analytical assays for protein characterization, utilizing techniques such as UPLC, light scattering, CE-SDS, and cIEF.
- Mentor and train team members to foster a collaborative environment.
- Address complex scientific challenges with innovative solutions.
- Communicate effectively with partners regarding project progress and deliverables.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coordinate with team members to achieve project milestones and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in protein mass spectrometry, particularly in intact mass and peptide mapping for identifying post-translational modifications.
- PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or a related discipline, or an MSc with 5+ years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
- Strong analytical skills and a desire to explore new technologies to enhance antibody characterization workflows.
- Experience with analytical chromatography, light scattering, and biophysical techniques; familiarity with high-throughput technologies is a plus.
- Proficient in sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis.
- A creative problem solver with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to analyze and interpret complex datasets.
