We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our team at Transat AT. This is a challenging opportunity for someone who excels in analyzing financial and operational transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Assess current internal controls related to financial statement preparation, handling of accounting and financial transactions;
  • Networking and Documentation: Network with Finance and Operations teams to obtain relevant information and document procedures in place;
  • Transaction Selection: Select transactions to ensure that processes as described are followed;
  • Policies and Procedures Implementation: Verify implementation of policies and procedures for Transat and its subsidiaries by performing other tests;
  • External Audit Support: Perform tests for External Auditors, using their own audit programs;
  • Recommendations and Corrective Action: For all mistakes found through testing, formulate adequate recommendations in an audit report, discuss potential recommendations with the Director and/or control owners to identify adequate corrective action plans, and follow up on actions taken;
  • Results Recording: Record into Resolver application all results of tests, recommendations, and actions taken.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: University degree or Cegep degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of experience for BAA or 6+ years for College diploma;
  • Conceptual COSO Knowledge: Conceptual COSO base knowledge, an asset;
  • Languages: Oral and written fluency in French and English *
  • Additional Skills: Verbal Spanish an asset, excellent knowledge of Excel and Word, strong communicator, participative, enthusiastic, optimistic, accommodating, energetic, verbal, and active; ability to work under pressure and multi-task; available to travel outside Canada, must possess a valid passport.
