Job Summary

The Parliament of Canada is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Messenger and Courier. This part-time position will provide administrative support to Members of Parliament, Committees, and Special Conferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide receptionist duties, including answering phones and responding to inquiries
  • Operate office equipment, such as photocopiers and faxes
  • Collate and staple documents, as well as distribute materials to designated recipients
  • Ensure adequate stationery supplies are maintained
  • Provide urgent and scheduled pick-up and delivery services to and from destinations on and off the Parliamentary Precinct
Working Conditions

The hours of work can vary between 0 to 35 hours from Monday to Friday, with work periods from mid-September to mid-December, late January to late June. The position is interrupted during the summer months and between parliamentary sessions.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or a combination of relevant experience
  • Experience interacting regularly with people in person and/or over the telephone
  • Knowledge of customer service delivery
  • Ability to use technology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in delivering courier services
