Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee the day-to-day cleaning operations at one of our client's facilities in Oshawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating a culture of inclusion, innovation, and productivity among our team members, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Culture Development: Foster a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and productivity among team members.
- Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders through clear and transparent communication.
- Account Management: Maintain the account cleaning requirements at a consistent, optimum level of efficiency, ensuring that all services are delivered to the highest standards.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to hourly paid staff on cleaning procedures, WHMIS training, and other relevant topics.
- Operations Management: Establish work schedules, maintain accurate records, and submit time sheets in a timely manner.
- Leadership and Supervision: Supervise, lead, motivate, and develop employees within assigned duties, ensuring that all team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- Communication and Reporting: Advise the Operations Manager of any changes in building requirements, security incidents, or other relevant matters, and ensure that all necessary reports are prepared and submitted.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are followed and maintained, and report any WSIB issues to the Area Manager.
- Supply Chain Management: Order supplies as per company policies and procedures, and ensure proper control over stock at all times.
- Incident Investigation: Assist with incident investigations and tracking of discipline when necessary.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous supervisory experience within the cleaning industry in an industrial setting is preferred.
- Skills: Understanding of proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals, good communication and computer skills, and ability to write simple reports and correspondence.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility: Required to be flexible in adjusting workloads of staff to manage around absenteeism and special projects.
- Availability: Required to be on call for emergency situations.
