Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated Facilities Maintenance Team Lead to join our team in the Canadian Rockies. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager in providing a safe, clean, and professional-looking facility for our guests. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a passion for coaching and developing employees, and a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in maintaining a high level of operational excellence, employee training and development, service standards, and consistencies.
  • Act as the 'on the floor' daily leadership for the Facilities Maintenance team, focusing on coordination of daily and weekly employee schedules and breaks.
  • Recognize and identify business needs in relation to employee scheduling, providing administrative support to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform quality assurance checks, coach staff members as required, and complete repairs within the scope of experience/skill.
  • Participate in seasonal annual opening and closing procedures, booking and coordinating contractors as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership position experience or a willingness to progress into a leadership position.
  • A passion for coaching and developing employees, with excellent employee and public relations skills.
  • Strong team play, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds as necessary.
  • Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated, with a consistently high level of energy.
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks needing attention, with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, while possessing flexibility towards different tasks.
  • Confidence to safely use common hand tools such as hammers, drills, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
  • Experience in a custodial or light maintenance role an asset, as well as tourism or hospitality industry experience.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment, prepared for all weather conditions.
  • Meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards, and consent to a criminal record check.
  • Standard First-Aid or higher an asset.
