Pattison Agriculture is a leading provider of agricultural solutions, dedicated to growing, connecting, and evolving the industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Service Operations Manager to join our team in Swan River, Manitoba.
Job Summary
The Service Operations Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and directing the workload of the Service Department. This role requires a strong focus on quality of work, effective communication, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and schedule internal, customer, and warranty jobs for service employees based on their skills and knowledge, and provide feedback.
- Work with the Service Business Manager to develop new hire orientation programs and provide mentorship for new technicians.
- Optimize shop efficiency and flow to minimize lost billable hours.
- Ensure effective communication and follow-up on repair status and issues.
- Collaborate with the manager to identify and execute continuous process improvements, training opportunities, and provide backup during peak seasons.
- Direct and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting machine problems with technicians and apprentices.
- Perform final checks and approvals on equipment before starting work orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service consistently above standards, maintain customer relationships, and respond to inquiries and needs.
- Assist the Service Advisor in providing quotes on repairs for internal and external customers, and accurate records of work orders.
- Build and maintain constructive co-worker relationships and foster strong team communications and dynamics.
- Assist in conducting safety meetings and encourage safe working habits.
Requirements
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly and 40-75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license required.
- 5+ years of experience performing complex service repairs and maintenance.
- Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
- Ability to use current business systems and working knowledge of computer functions.
