About the Role
Pattison Agriculture is seeking a highly skilled Service Shift Manager to join our team in Preeceville, SK. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the workload of our service employees, ensuring high-quality work, effective communication, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and schedule internal, customer, and warranty jobs for service employees based on their skills and knowledge, providing feedback and guidance.
- Collaborate with the Service Business Manager to develop and implement new hire orientation programs, provide mentorship to new technicians, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvements.
- Optimize shop efficiency and flow to minimize lost billable hours, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up on repair status and issues.
- Direct and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting machine problems with technicians and apprentices, providing expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform final checks and approvals on equipment before starting work orders, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining customer relationships and responding to inquiries and needs.
- Assist the Service Advisor in providing quotes on repairs for internal and external customers, maintaining accurate records of work orders.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with coworkers, fostering strong team dynamics and communication.
- Assist in conducting safety meetings, promoting safe working habits and a culture of safety.
Requirements
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly, 40-75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license required.
- 5+ years of experience performing complex service repairs and maintenance.
- Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag and turf equipment.
- Ability to use current business systems and working knowledge of computer functions.
