About the Role
Pattison Agriculture is seeking a highly skilled Service Shift Manager to join our team in Swan River, MB. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the workload of our service employees, ensuring high-quality work, effective communication, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and schedule internal, customer, and warranty jobs for service employees based on their skills and knowledge, providing feedback and guidance.
- Work closely with the Service Business Manager to develop and implement new hire orientation programs, provide mentorship to new technicians, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvements.
- Optimize shop efficiency and flow to minimize lost billable hours, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up on repair status and issues.
- Direct and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting machine problems with technicians and apprentices, providing expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform final checks and approvals on equipment before starting work orders, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Provide exceptional customer service, consistently meeting or exceeding standards, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Assist the Service Advisor in providing quotes for repairs, maintaining accurate records of work orders, and building constructive relationships with coworkers.
- Conduct safety meetings, encourage safe working habits, and foster a positive team dynamic.
Requirements
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly and 40-75 lbs occasionally.
- Valid driver's license required.
- 5+ years of experience in complex service repairs and maintenance.
- Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag/turf equipment.
- Ability to use current business systems and working knowledge of computer functions.
