Job Summary:

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Manager, Community Development and Social Planning. This position will play a key role in the coordination, management, and development of the Department's policies and preparation for the Legislative Assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in the coordination, management, and development of the Department's policies and preparation for the Legislative Assembly.
  • Recommend the creation or amendment of legislation and/or policies.
  • Oversee Access to Information and Protection of Privacy activities.
  • Lead the departmental strategic planning process.
  • Develop and implement policies and programs that align with the Department's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective policy development and implementation.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on policy development and implementation.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Public Policy Administration, Social Science, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years' experience developing policy and programs in a large organization or government setting.
  • Experience in program delivery/management, evaluation, public relations, and research.
  • Fluency in English and French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
