About the Role

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Policy and Strategic Planning to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in guiding and assisting the development and review of our policies, briefings, and decision-making documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in department-wide strategic planning, including the collection, recording, and analysis of information on housing.
  • Coordinate information for the Minister, President, and CEO, and Board of Directors to represent the Corporation.
  • Support informed decision-making, alignment of plans and activities, organized and effective planning and policy structures, and effective corporation communications.
  • Serve as an integral function with regards to the Corporation's crisis management structure and the management of NHC's reputation overall.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field. A minimum of five years' experience in the policy field, including policy development and analysis, strategic planning, communications, and public relations, is required. Three years of progressive managerial experience is also necessary.

What We Offer

This indeterminate position offers a competitive salary range of $118,977.00 to $169,969.00 per year (for 37.5 hours/week), plus a Northern Allowance of $16,008.00 per annum. Subsidized staff housing is available.
