About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Security Specialist to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our IT Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our databases and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Security and Auditing: Apply strong concepts of database security, auditing, and application security with Enterprise Applications to achieve sufficient hardening.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Utilize Audit Vault and Database Firewall to effectively monitor databases and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Encryption and Data Protection: Implement Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and ensure the security of sensitive data.
  • Security Best Practices: Implement and maintain security best practices, including data masking and access control.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Support and enhance Stantec's High Availability Architecture and disaster recovery operations.
  • Database Administration: Perform database backup and recovery, and plan, test, and perform software upgrades.
  • Application Support: Assist with database loads and data conversion activities, clone and support different application environments, and resolve assigned security-specific Service requests.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience providing Oracle DBA support in a LINUX/UNIX environment, with at least 2 years of experience working with Oracle 19C.
  • Skills: Extensive Oracle and Oracle E-Business Suite application experience, SQL Server experience, experience with RHEL Linux, shell scripting, and data security concepts.
  • Education: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience and a related degree. OCP Database Security, CISSP, CCSP, and GIAC certifications are an asset.
