About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist to join our team at LeddarTech. As a Data Specialist, you will play a critical role in improving the data lifecycle and supporting the development of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve the Data Lifecycle (40%)
    • Assess current data infrastructure and propose a plan to integrate current systems to a desired future state based on LeddarTech's business vision.
    • Provide recommendations to the data engineering team to improve tools and processes, and pipeline.
    • Responsible for creating and updating procedures for specific data life cycle processes.
    • Collaborate with data engineering, DEVOPS, IT, and Architect teams to support the development of the best data infrastructure.
  • Data Specialist - Support Data Collection and Annotation Projects (50%)
    • Lead annotation projects and deliver high-quality data to internal customers.
    • Contribute to technical task execution of the data life cycle process, including recording, slicing, QA, etc.
    • Review and approve the quality of work from the team.
    • Challenge and improve data annotation policies with the support of algo and test teams.
    • Master annotation policies and all tools and methods of the data life cycle, contributing to their improvement.
  • Collaborate in the Development of the Organization (10%)
    • Participate in meetings relevant to the function.
    • Collaborate with coworkers.
    • Collaborate in administrative procedures of the organization.
    • Keep knowledge up to date.
    • Work with DevOps, data engineering, and data verification teams to design and deploy best data pipelines for product development.
    • Work with data engineering teams to design and deploy data collection tools.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or other technical degree.
    • 2+ years of experience in a technical role.
    • Experience in a start-up is an asset.
    • Experience working with international customers and partners is an asset.
    • Experience in complex project management is an asset.
    • Self-motivated and savvy problem solver with a passion for technology.
    • Software development knowledge (Python is an asset).
    • Data format, robotics, calibration, neural networks (an asset).
    • Bilingual English-French (essential).
