Job Overview

The Deputy GBTS Manager plays a key role in supporting the Training Information Management Systems (TIMS) at KF Aerospace. This position reports to the GBTS Manager and is responsible for coordinating changes to the courseware and documentation used by the Department of National Defence (DND).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Courseware Management: The Deputy GBTS Manager is responsible for the technical development and integration of courseware, training equipment, and TIMS. This includes coordinating required flying training equipment and courseware changes based on requirements provided by the MFO (Manager of Flying Operations).
  • Participate with liaison between software companies and Allied Wings: The Deputy GBTS Manager ensures that all technical issues are promptly communicated between organizations and issues are tracked and validated.
  • Participate in the Training Program Improvement Committee (TPIC): The Deputy GBTS Manager contributes to the improvement of training programs and ensures that training solutions are effective and efficient.
  • Delivery and administration of the Course Critique Program: The Deputy GBTS Manager ensures that training administration staff issues surveys to students in a timely manner and reviews and delivers course survey results for course analysis reports.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and internal reviews as required.
  • Act as GBTS Manager as required.
  • Act as Project Manager at the discretion of the GBTS Manager.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the GBTS Manager.

Required Certification, Education, or Experience

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Degree from an accredited university or college in Project or Business Management, or in Education.
  • Experience in instructional design or curriculum review.
  • Knowledge of aviation/military terminology preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Clearance.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel within and outside of Canada.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
  • Consistently demonstrate a higher level of competency in the following areas: sound decision making, ability to create solutions to complex problems, leadership and management skills, ability to work independently, ability to discern and act quickly on matters of urgency, high level of accuracy, organizational skills, communication, both written and verbal.
  • Pilot's license an asset.
