Pension Administration Services Manager

Established in Canada, Scotiabank is a leading banking institution offering various services to its clients. The company is currently seeking a Pension Administration Services Manager to contribute to the overall success of their Medicus Pension Plan.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of pension administration services, ensuring specific individual goals and objectives are met in support of the team's business strategies. This includes:
- Supporting day-to-day administration of pension benefits for plan members.
- Working closely with third-party administrators to manage member data, support services, and inquiries.
- Developing job aids and training materials related to tools and systems to ensure efficient and accurate administrative tasks.
- Facilitating discussions between leadership and third-party administrators to elicit requirements and solution options for system or process improvements.
- Ensuring all processes follow established protocols and regulatory guidelines while seeking opportunities for operational improvements.
- Working with key stakeholders to ensure accurate administration of member data and pension plan provisions, including interpretation of plan text and policies.
- Managing escalations from third-party vendors and daily monitoring of support mailboxes.
- Executing and delivering cyclical administration projects.
- Partnering with third-party administrators and project management teams on planning calendars and key dates.
This role requires strong analytical skills, effective time management, and priority setting abilities. The successful candidate will also possess:
- A university degree with at least 5 years' experience in pension benefit administration or a highly analytical position.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, with experience in Salesforce and/or OneSpan being an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with expertise in interacting with all levels of management.
- Effective relationship-building and influencing skills to develop and maintain partnering relationships with key stakeholders.
