About the Role

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Group Benefits team, contributing to the growth and development of the benefits department and the organization. As a consultant, you will leverage your expertise to provide innovative advice and solutions to mid-large group customers, focusing on Drug Management strategies, Organizational health, and absence management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote strong client and prospect relationships through social and business interactions
  • Work with small and mid-size client accounts
  • Develop client-specific strategies and concepts to support competitive plan design
  • Present quarterly experience, financial updates, marketing, and renewal reports to clients
  • Provide education on group benefits and options for consideration
  • Offer consultative interpretation of reports to support clients in making informed decisions
  • Generate new business sales through prospecting and cross-selling initiatives
  • Prepare and deliver thorough benefit plan updates, conveying key issues to the client audience
  • Participate in renewal negotiations, prioritizing client needs
  • Conduct RFP process analysis, coordinate finalist presentations, and transition to new carriers as needed
  • Collaborate with other business teams to coordinate relationship management efforts
  • Oversight and participation in other NFP projects and tasks
  • Pursue career development through educational programs and seminars

Requirements

  • Life Licensed (LLQP) or obtain within the first 6 months
  • Minimum 5 years of group benefits insurance experience
  • Experience in a relationship/business development role
  • Extensive knowledge of group benefits policy contracts and language
  • Strong analytical, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including business writing
  • First-rate presentation skills with the ability to engage audiences
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
