Maintenance and Facility Operations Professional

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance and Facility Operations Professional to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair building equipment, including painting and drywall, HVAC systems, fire safety and emergency equipment, and locker rooms and surface floors.
  • Ensure the safe and continuous operation of pools, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms, as well as related equipment and chemicals.
  • Perform light-duty cleaning, project cleaning, general cleaning, and laundry services.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Respond to emergencies in the facility and report maintenance issues to the Facility Manager.
  • Provide coverage for center opening and closing and respond to requests for assistance during on-call duty periods.
  • Assist with materials management related to building supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels and ordering/replacing materials as needed.
  • Actively participate in scheduled programs, meetings, and special events.
  • Build relationships with members and promote the YMCA's mission and values.

Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in skilled trades and/or building maintenance.
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR level C an asset.
  • Pool Operator Certificate preferred (certification must be obtained within first three months).
  • WHMIS and related health and safety training an asset.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
